A variety of techniques are available for Hispanic individuals who seek out the rhinoplasty procedure. Hispanic nasal characteristics vary widely and are even explained in medical literature. Distinctions include the Castilian nose, reflecting Mediterranean ancestry and the mestizo nose, reflecting Native American heritage.

Typically, the Castilian nose has a high nasal bridge and a normal nasal tip. The mestizo nose involves a somewhat broad base and a thicker tip. If, however, the nose does fall into one of the two categories mentioned above, the following procedures are generally followed. For the Castilian nose, the dorsal hump is decreased in size, and the tip is refined. The mestizo nose typically does not have a nasal hump. Instead, the mestizo nose involves techniques for shaping and projecting the nasal tip outward. Suturing procedures and cartilage grafts are employed. Cutting away excess nostril skin can also help to reduce the size of nostrils.
